The Annual General Meeting of the ARCH Tenant Group was held on
Monday 22 June at the Chartered Institute of Housing Offices in
London, followed by a meeting of the Tenant Group. It confirmed the
appointment of tenant representatives and membership of the Group
for 2015-2017 and election of the Tenant Group Chair and

14 Council's nominated tenants to the ARCH Tenants Group.
Membership of the Group for the two years 2015-2017 was ratified at
the 22 June AGM. You can see the list of members here.

- Chair and Vice Chair of Tenants Group
At the AGM, the 14-strong membership elected Jenny Hill and
Marlene Price BEM as Chair and Vice Chair respectively. Jenny and
Marlene are also Directors of ARCH and sit on the Executive Board
to ensure that the voice of tenants is heard.
The AGM was followed by a
meeting of the Tenant Group with a number of important issues on
- Impact of Right to Buy on Councils a hot topic for the
ARCH Tenants Group
The Group had a lengthy discussion with John Bibby CEO of
ARCH, about the potential implications on councils if
proposals for sale of high value Council housing is introduced to
fund extension of Right to Buy for housing association tenants.

- ARCH Tenant Group members facilitating workshop at the
TPAS conference, 9 July
Jenny Hill and Martyn Lund, from the Tenant Group, will be
facilitating a workshop named Manifesto Time - the warts and all
story of how the ARCH Tenants Group were involved in an exercise to
develop tenants' priorities which influenced the content of the
ARCH and National Federation of ALMOs manifesto. The manifesto was launched at the House of
Commons earlier this year
We will let you know about any ideas generated from
workshop participants about their priorities for housing.
- Conference date for your tenant's diary: Wednesday 23
This year's ARCH tenant's conference is on Wednesday 23
September and is kindly hosted by Croydon Council. Details will be
posted to the website in the next few weeks. All ARCH members have
the opportunity of five places as part of their membership.
A key speaker is from the DCLG and there will be a range of
topical workshops. This year's ARCH Awards will be announced and
presented here too. Look out for more info on this website and in
future editions of the bulletin.
