Due to a change of portfolio holder responsibilities at his
local authority, Councillor Paul Ellis has stood down as chair of
the ARCH Executive Board.
Councillor Ellis chaired his last meeting of the ARCH Executive
Board in May before taking on his new responsibilities as Cabinet
Member for Adult Care and Health at Wandsworth Council. ARCH Board
members and tenant representatives thanked Councillor Ellis for his
service as chair and wished him well in his new role.
In announcing that he was standing down, Councillor
"It has been an absolute pleasure working with the ARCH
board members over the years, and I will certainly miss my
involvement with ARCH. I do hope the progress we have made,
particularly in the last couple of years, will
ARCH chief executive, John Bibby, said:
"Under Councillor Ellis' excellent chairmanship, the
Association has developed and grown, our membership has increased
and under his leadership we have made significant progress in
making the case for council housing. His knowledge and commitment
to housing will be missed but we wish him every success in taking
on his new role as Cabinet member for Adult Care and Health at
Councillor Clare Salier, who is replacing Councillor Ellis'
current role as Cabinet Member for Housing at Wandsworth Council,
will take on the role of chair of the ARCH Executive Board until
the ARCH AGM in December.
