ARCH chair stands down 25/05/2017

Due to a change of portfolio holder responsibilities at his local authority, Councillor Paul Ellis has stood down as chair of the ARCH Executive Board.

Councillor Ellis chaired his last meeting of the ARCH Executive Board in May before taking on his new responsibilities as Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Health at Wandsworth Council. ARCH Board members and tenant representatives thanked Councillor Ellis for his service as chair and wished him well in his new role.

In announcing that he was standing down, Councillor Ellis said:

"It has been an absolute pleasure working with the ARCH board members over the years, and I will certainly miss my involvement with ARCH. I do hope the progress we have made, particularly in the last couple of years, will continue."

ARCH chief executive, John Bibby, said:

"Under Councillor Ellis' excellent chairmanship, the Association has developed and grown, our membership has increased and under his leadership we have made significant progress in making the case for council housing. His knowledge and commitment to housing will be missed but we wish him every success in taking on his new role as Cabinet member for Adult Care and Health at Wandsworth."

Councillor Clare Salier, who is replacing Councillor Ellis' current role as Cabinet Member for Housing at Wandsworth Council, will take on the role of chair of the ARCH Executive Board until the ARCH AGM in December.
