The ARCH Tenant Group met on 26 March and, as part of a packed
agenda, the Group took part in a workshop on the future of social
housing and discussed what they would like to see in the
forthcoming Housing Green Paper. The Group also examined the
Government's proposals for strengthening consumer redress in
housing.
In a busy meeting, attended by a number of new members to the
Group, tenant representatives also received a presentation on the
latest developments in the Government's Welfare Reform programme
and the roll out of Universal Credit from Jo Linney, Independent
Consultant.
The Group also received an update on the Benefit to Society
Campaign and feedback from members of the Group who attended the
successful launch of the Campaign at the House of Commons and held
further discussions about the Annual Tenant Group Conference
planned for September this year.
The Tenants Group views on the Housing Green Paper and the
Government's proposals for strengthening consumer redress in
housing will be fed into the ARCH Executive Board at its meeting on
9 April to help inform an ARCH response on these issues.
Minutes of the meeting will be available in due course in the tenants' area of the ARCH website in due course
together with copies of the agenda papers and presentations.
