We are pleased to welcome Newark
and Sherwood District Council as the latest member of
the Association and extend to elected members, tenants and officers
of the council a very warm welcome.
Newark and Sherwood District Council joins the Association
following a decision to wind up their former Arms-Length Management
Organisation and bring the housing management service back
"in-house".
ARCH aims to provide the stock retained sector with a strong
voice and influence on the housing debate. With the significant
reforms outlined in the Social Housing White Paper now, more than
ever, it is important that we make the case for council housing.
Most stock retained councils are now members of ARCH and over the
next few months we will be launching a recruitment drive to
highlight the benefits of joining our network and encourage the
remaining stock retained councils to consider the benefits of ARCH
membership.
We welcome our colleagues from Newark and Sherwood Council and
trust that elected members, tenants and officers will contribute
fully to the work of ARCH and make the most of the benefits of ARCH
membership and the ARCH network of stock retained councils.
