DWP to speak at ARCH Tenants’ Conference 07/07/2016

Senior representatives from the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) will speak at the ARCH Tenant Conference on 22 September.

Following discussions with Lord Freud, the Minister for Welfare Reform at the DWP, it has been agreed that Annette Madden from the Universal Credit Programme will speak at the conference in Leamington Spa.

Tenants will be able to hear first-hand from the DWP about their plans for welfare reform and the roll out of Universal Credit. Tenants will also be able to discuss the government's plans for introduction of higher rents for higher earning households (pay to stay) and the introduction of fixed-term tenancies with senior representatives from the DCLG (Department for Communities and Local Government).

We're committed to ensuring that tenants' voices are heard and it's your chance to hear directly from the people at the heart of government responsible for these reforms. You'll have opportunities to raise questions and have your say on the future of council housing at what these changes mean for you and the people in your community.

This year there will also be a special award to acknowledge the work undertaken by tenants in their communities.

Places are limited so please book as soon as possible. ARCH members are entitled to up to five free places at the conference.
