Home Office 'Fire Kills' Campaign 18/04/2019 Labelled as Development, Tenants

The Home Office has launched a new 'Fire Kills' advertising campaign to raise awareness of everyday fire risks that are present in the home and encourage all householders in England to test their smoke alarms regularly.

The advertising campaign signposts householders to the Fire Kills website which provides hints and tips on staying fire safe in the home.

The Home Office has also produced a briefing pack for social landlords which has more information on the campaign and how ARCH member councils can support it, assist in raising the profile of fire safety and help keep their tenants safe in their homes.

The pack contains resources, including posters, images for social media channels, and suggested posts which ARCH member councils can use to promote the campaign to their staff and tenants through tenant newsletters and your own communication channels.

Click here for the Home Office information pack.

The Home Office has also made available five 10-second 'Fire Kills' campaign videos which ARCH members can access via the Home Office website. The videos show fire risks, including candles, overloaded plug sockets, and cigarettes and we would encourage ARCH member councils to use the videos in their own fire safety activities.
