The Home Office is delivering a number of communication webinars
to highlight the changes in conducting Right to Rent checks in
England for EU, EEA and Swiss citizens, following the end of the
grace period on 1 July 2021. The webinars are aimed at landlords,
letting agents and relevant stakeholders.
Since February 2020, the Home Office external engagement team
have delivered over 400 free online and in person events,
presenting information on the new Points-Based Immigration System,
and EU settlement scheme and the Home Office is now looking to
engage with Landlords, Letting agents and those relevant within
this sector, to provide guidance on the recent changes.
Topics covered in the webinar will include:
- An overview of new Right to Rent checks
- How to conduct Right to Rent checks
- How to avoid unlawful discrimination when conducting Right to
Rent checks
- Important legal implications for landlords and letting
agents.
The presentations will last approximately 45 minutes, followed
by a short Q&A session with Home Office officials.
The next webinars are being held on 20 October and 22 October.
