Homelessness Reduction Bill under consideration 21/12/2016

The Homelessness Reduction Bill, a Private Members Bill introduced by Bob Blackman MP, was published on 21 October and passed its Second Reading on 28 October with Government and all-party support.

The Bill is now under consideration by Commons Committee. The Committee has met four times, on 23 November, 30 November, 7 and 14 December, and has debated and approved, without amendment, Clauses 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 of the Bill.

On 14 December the Commons Committee began, but did not conclude, debate on Clause 10. Clauses 1, 7 and 11 to 13 are still to be debated.

The Committee is scheduled to meet again on 11 January and is expected to complete its consideration of the Bill no later than 18 January.

ARCH policy adviser, Matthew Warburton, has produced a briefing to update ARCH members on progress of the Bill.
