The Homelessness Reduction Bill, a Private Members Bill
introduced by Bob Blackman MP, was published on 21 October and
passed its Second Reading on 28 October with Government and
The Bill is now under consideration by Commons Committee. The
Committee has met four times, on 23 November, 30 November, 7 and 14
December, and has debated and approved, without amendment, Clauses
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9 of the Bill.
On 14 December the Commons Committee began, but did not
conclude, debate on Clause 10. Clauses 1, 7 and 11 to 13 are still
to be debated.
The Committee is scheduled to meet again on 11 January and is
expected to complete its consideration of the Bill no later than 18
