Chartered Institute of Housing is undertaking a research project to
look into the initial impact of the move to Housing Revenue Account
self-financing. The deadline for councils and ALMOs to complete
their questionnaires is 26 October.
The project aims to show how local authorities and ALMOs are
responding to the opportunities and challenges presented by
self-financing. A key element of the research is a questionnaire
that has been sent to all stock holding local authorities in
The survey has been sent to contacts in housing management
and/or housing finance and, where an authority has an ALMO, it has
also been copied to the chief executive of the ALMO. The best
person to complete the survey is someone with a good working
knowledge of the authority's HRA under self-financing along with an
overview of HRA business plan priorities over the coming years.
This is your chance to have your say on how your authority
approaches self-financing and contribute to a robust national
evidence base. Please complete the questionnaire by FRIDAY
26 OCTOBER. [Note - the survey is now closed].
