Joint Welfare Reform survey launched for its 5th year 27/04/2017

ARCH member councils will shortly receive a request to complete the latest ARCH/NFA joint Welfare Reform survey.

We've carried out this annual survey for the past four years to track the impact of welfare reform and the roll-out of Universal Credit on councils and ALMOs and their tenants.

Previous surveys have highlighted significant impacts which we have raised in meetings with Ministers and the results of our research have been widely quoted in the media and in many debates in Parliament.

The aim of this latest survey is to continue to build up a picture of the impacts across the country in the ALMO and local authority sectors to help inform discussions with the government and to identify emerging issues and any unintended consequences.  We will also be able to inform members on trends in rent arrears, void rates and other issues. This is a continuation of the survey from last year and we would appreciate as many responses as possible to be able to do a full year on year analysis of the data.

The latest survey aims to update the picture to the end of March 2017 and we hope all member authorities will find time to complete it.

Responses are requested by Wednesday 10 May and if you would like further information, please contact ARCH Policy Adviser, Matthew Warburton, via email at matthew.warburton@arch-housing.org.uk.
