The Chair, Vice-chair and 1 other member of the ARCH Tenant
Group will be attending a resident engagement meeting with the
Housing Minister on 1 November.
Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy the Prime Minister promised
that the Government will consider how best to address the wider
social issues that the formal Public Inquiry will not be examining
and said that Housing Minister, Alok Sharma, will personally meet and hear from as many social housing tenants
as possible, both in the immediate area around Grenfell Tower
but also across the country to help build up a comprehensive
picture of some of the immediate issues facing tenants, as well as
to identify any common concerns that must inform any national
Tenants are being invited to attend a number of consultation
meetings being held across the country with the Housing Minister
and three tenants from the ARCH Tenants Group are attending the
London meeting on the 1 November together with ARCH Policy Advisor
Other tenants from the ARCH Tenant Group may also be attending
local regional events with the Minister. ARCH are waiting for
details of the regional dates. This is an important opportunity to
ensure tenants voices are heard at a policy decision making level
in advance of the promised Housing Green Paper.
