Members of ARCH Tenants' Group attend meetings with Housing Minister 12/10/2017 Labelled as Consultation, Tenants

The Chair, Vice-chair and 1 other member of the ARCH Tenant Group will be attending a resident engagement meeting with the Housing Minister on 1 November.

Following the Grenfell Tower tragedy the Prime Minister promised that the Government will consider how best to address the wider social issues that the formal Public Inquiry will not be examining and said that Housing Minister, Alok Sharma, will personally meet and hear from as many social housing tenants as possible, both in the immediate area around Grenfell Tower but also across the country to help build up a comprehensive picture of some of the immediate issues facing tenants, as well as to identify any common concerns that must inform any national approach.

Tenants are being invited to attend a number of consultation meetings being held across the country with the Housing Minister and three tenants from the ARCH Tenants Group are attending the London meeting on the 1 November together with ARCH Policy Advisor Matthew Warburton.

Other tenants from the ARCH Tenant Group may also be attending local regional events with the Minister. ARCH are waiting for details of the regional dates. This is an important opportunity to ensure tenants voices are heard at a policy decision making level in advance of the promised Housing Green Paper.

Watch this space for feedback from the meetings.
