Following publication of the Social Housing Green Paper,
Ministers are to embark on a series of 8 regional events to meet
tenants and landlords. These meetings follow on from the series of
Resident Engagement Meetings held late last year/early this year in
advance of publication of the Green Paper.
Ministers have planned to hold 8 regional events for tenants
during the Green Paper consultation period in the North West, North
East, East Midlands, West Midlands, London, South East, South West
and a bespoke event for Grenfell survivors and the wider
community.
Details of the first 5 events have now been released to be held
in:
- Manchester (North West) on 20 September
- Camden (London) on 24 September
- Norwich (East Anglia) on 25 September
- Newcastle (North East) on 8 October
- Hastings (South East) on 18 October
There is also a plan to hold a separate meeting with landlords
on the same day of each tenant event to discuss relevant parts of
the Green Paper with the sector.
Officials at the Ministry of Housing have asked that we share
details of these events with ARCH member councils and ask that they
in turn share these details with their tenants.
The following is a schedule of meetings arranged so far,
together with details of the dates, times and venues and contact
details for the host organisation.
ARCH member councils and any tenant wishing to attend one of the
events, should contact the relevant host organisation to book a
place at the event of their choice - contact details for each event
are set out in the schedule below.
