The next ARCH member meeting will take place on 26 May 2016 in
London. It will focus on the government's proposals for estate
regeneration as well as the very latest on the Housing and Planning
Bill.
Following the announcement of a £140million fund and the
establishment of a new
Estate Regeneration Panel chaired by Lord Heseltine, members
will be able to hear the latest from the DCLG Estate Regeneration
Team and learn from two of the estate regeneration projects
referred to in the Estate Regeneration Statement issued by the
government in February.
Brian Reilly, Director of Housing and Community Services at
Wandsworth Council, will outline the approach taken by Wandsworth
Council to the regeneration of the York Road Estate in Battersea.
Peter Richmond, Chief Executive, of the Pioneer Group will provide
delegates with information on the successful regeneration of the
Castle Vale area of Birmingham.
In addition John Bibby, ARCH CEO and Matthew Warburton, ARCH
Policy Adviser will provide the latest news on the Housing and
Planning Bill which, subject to its passage through Parliament, is
expected to receive Royal Assent sometime towards the end of
May.
