All too often the media and others portray council tenants and
council housing in a negative way. A group of social landlords and
tenants have come together to tackle the unfair and unhelpful
stereotyping of social housing tenants.
They're currently looking for more partners to help fund and
support a project to counter this unfair stereotyping looking to
positively capture real life stories of social housing tenants and
social housing and commissioning research that will counter the
negative images portrayed in the press and media.
The ARCH Board has agreed to help support the project with
ideas, implementation and publicity/promotion of the campaign.
Tenants will be at the forefront of this work and Jenny Hill,
ARCH Tenant Group Chair, and Carole Halfacre ARCH Tenant Group
Co-ordinator will be attending a gathering of tenants and officers
in London on Friday 23 September to discuss the project.
