Update from the ARCH Tenants’ Group Jenny Hill - 29/08/2013

While  our regular blogger, ARCH Policy Adviser  Matthew Warburton is on holiday, ARCH Tenants' Group Chair Jenny Hill has stepped into the breach to bring you up-to-date on the work of the Group…

Universal Credit, the 'bedroom tax': these new reforms confuse most of us. ARCH Tenants' Group has produced two leaflets which we hope will take you through the minefield.

These leaflets are sent electronically to ARCH member councils who may wish to provide copies for tenants, or provide them with the link to ARCH's website where they can be viewed or downloaded.

Your Tenant Participation Officer (TPO), or someone else you know at the Council, may be able to help if you have not had access to these leaflets or other information that your landlord has produced about welfare reforms.

Also, don't forget this year's annual ARCH Tenants' Conference will take place in Great Yarmouth on 19 September. This is an ideal opportunity to meet with other tenants and discuss what your landlord is doing with your rent money now that we have adopted self-financing.

Have you entered the annual ARCH Awards? The 2 September deadline for nominations is fast approaching, and the awards celebrate and recognise inspirational tenants and initiatives from councils.

If you would like details of the conference then you should contact your TPO. More information is available on ARCH's website too. Each ARCH member council can have five places for tenants FREE which is great news. Spaces are limited, so you should book now to avoid disappointment.

For more information about the ARCH Tenants' Group have a look at our website pages here.
