Reduction in housing rents: DCN survey 23/07/2015

The District Council's Network (DCN) have issued a survey to their members to assess the impact of the proposals to force councils to reduce rents. ARCH is supporting that survey and would encourage ARCH members to respond.

This short survey seeking information on the impact of the proposed rent reductions to gather evidence to put before Ministers in response to these proposals. It asks five simple questions:

  1. Has your council achieved full rent convergence?
  2. If no, what is the percentage of your properties which has not achieved convergence?
  3. What will be the loss of rent income over the next four years?
  4. What is the loss of rental income over the full 30 years
  5. What is the equivalent number of new houses that will not be built over these periods?

Although the DCN were looking for a response by today, We would encourage ARCH members to complete and return the survey (even if your council is a unitary authority or London Borough), copying your response to John Bibby, ARCH CEO: john.bibby@arch-housing.org.uk.

Please complete the online survey or complete this document and email it to: Jonathan Werran via email jonathan.werran@local.gov.uk and copy in John Bibby.
