On 1 November, ARCH wrote jointly with the National Federation of ALMOs and Councils with ALMOs Group to the Building Safety Regulator to express concern about the Regulator’s draft complaints guidance. The main concern was that the guidance was likely to cause confusion for residents because it proposed a different definition of a complaint than the one used by the Housing Ombudsman and was insufficiently clear about when a concern should be taken up with the landlord, the Housing Ombudsman, the Regulator of Social Housing or the Building Safety Regulator.
ARCH has now received a response from the Building Safety Regulator, which is here. The letter offers reassurances that the draft guidance will be looked at again in the light of the concerns raised.
