Gateshead Council is currently undertaking a review of its housing governance arrangements and is seeking to better understand how other stock-retaining local authorities approach housing oversight, regulatory assurance, and tenant influence.  ARCH member councils are asked to help by completing the short survey here:Gateshead Housing Assurance Survey

The survey focuses on:

• Where overall housing oversight sits within governance arrangements.
• How compliance with the Consumer Standards is monitored and assured.
• How tenants are involved in governance, assurance, and scrutiny activity.
• Whether governance arrangements have changed following the introduction of proactive consumer regulation.

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and is intended to help us understand the range of approaches currently being adopted across the sector. Responses are requested by Friday 16 October 2026.
