The new regulatory regime for social housing went live on 1 April. To remind any landlord that might have forgotten, the Regulator of Social Housing wrote to local authority and housing association chief executives on 2 April to confirm that the four new consumer standards had come into force, along with new powers for the Regulator to inspect and enforce compliance with them. Details of the new standards have previously been reported in this Bulletin and can be found here. The letter also confirms that the Regulator has notified the landlords to be included in the first wave of inspections, although it has not published a list of them.
